Travelling With Kids
Author: Denny Phillips
I am sure that many of us have heard horror stories about being cooped up in a car or airplane for hours at a time with cranky kids. "Are we there yet?" "How much longer?" "Megan is 'looking' at me!" "I have to go to the bathroom--RIGHT NOW!" There are endless instances when children can get on our nerves when travelling. Here are a few tips that may help soften the travel woes...
Create a TRAVEL SURVIVAL KIT packed with small travel toys and games. Use a bright back-pack or tote bag dedicated to the purpose. Include age-appropriate toys, such as an etch-a-sketch for preschool drawing fun, magnetic letter board for a toddler, sticker, puzzle or joke books for a grade-schooler. Interactive games can keep siblings happy-like Brain Quest cards with age-appropriate puzzles and questions, or even a simple deck of playing cards. Nowadays, portable DVD players and hand-held video games can keep kids trouble-free and occupied for hours. If you do take electronic things like a Game-Gear, be sure to take extra batteries.
Snacks can be healthy carrot sticks, crackers, pretzels, cheese or fruit. Try to keep the sugar content down for less hyperactive kids. Choose juice boxes and water bottles instead of canned soft drinks.
Take CD's along with their favourite music, as well as family music that you can all sing together while travelling.
Make sure your child uses the bathroom at every opportunity--before leaving home, in the airport before getting on the plane, right after eating on the plane (the line-ups for the few bathrooms can mean a long wait), before getting on the bus to go to the hotel or a sight-seeing trip.
If going on a beach vacation or cruise, of course sun-tan lotion is a must, as well as hats and sunglasses. Also take a skin cream in case of sun-burn. Be sure to include fun bandages and a small first-aid kit. Include some tummy-pills such as Gravol for car/bus/airplane trips, and constipation or diarrhoea medicine.
Another item to take along on your travels would be a history or fact book about the place you are visiting to keep the child involved. Play games asking them if they can find the historic site you are visiting in the book, or an eye-spy game locating various types or trees, flowers or birds. Even allowing them a kid-proof disposable camera for them to take their own pictures would be helpful in keeping the child interested.
Be sure the children have had enough rest before the journey. Tired kids are cranky kids. And limit their intake of exotic foods to prevent tummy problems. It is nice that children will try and enjoy different fruits in another country, but too much papaya or avocado can wreak havoc on even the most mature stomach.
Many resorts are child-friendly and these can be a family traveller’s best friend. These ‘geared-to-children’ places offer everything a child or parent could want, from child-centred snack bars (serving pizza, hamburgers and macaroni n’ cheese), kid-friendly swimming pools, special computer rooms, sports and activities, to group games (where children can interact with others in their own age group). Many of these family resorts also offer babysitting services that allow Mom and Dad some quiet time of their own.
Take along a special security blanket or teddy bear to make travelling not so frightening for younger children. Travel pillows, window-sun shades and a warm coverlet can increase the child’s comfort level when sleeping in a car or on a plane and reduce the travel blues.
Travelling with children doesn’t have to be a nightmare. With careful planning, plenty of rest and controlled activities, parents and children can enjoy vacationing together.

Pros And Cons On Package All Inclusive Vacations
The Pros And Cons - All Inclusive Vacations
All-inclusive packages will also normally include a couple of extras, such as a free tour or two, and on-sight recreation. All-inclusive means that once you get to your destination, you don’t have to spend any money except on souvenirs of your trip unless you go outside your resort. These vacations are a no hassle way of taking a vacation and being able to relax and enjoy it without figuring out how much your accommodations will cost and finding the right place to stay. Prices vary and depend on the time you plan to spend at the resort and what amenities you want or expect.
There are many advantages of an all-inclusive vacation package. The buffet-style food gives you a huge choice in what you want to eat, is easily available and will allow you to sample different varieties of food you normally wouldn’t try. The service is always helpful and you will find many activities included in the package. The all-inclusive trip that we took included two tours of our choice as well as snorkeling and other water activities. Many sights have pools, tennis courts, or golf courses. These activities are free and part of the package.
One of the best advantages in buy an all-inclusive package to a major theme park such as Disney World is they have so many activities that are included. For instance, water parks, miniature golf, canoeing, biking, and horseback riding. The best part is they have free shuttles back and forth between the different areas so you don’t have to worry about transportation. No need for the extra expense of renting a car.
If your family includes older children, you might enjoy an all-inclusive package such as a skiing adventure in the Rockies, or a trip to a “dude” ranch in Arizona. No matter what your tastes are, you can find an all-inclusive vacation to make everyone happy.
There are a few cons to an all-inclusive vacation. You should explore your destination on-line and sometimes that still doesn’t tell the whole story. We booked an all-inclusive vacation in Cancun that sounded like heaven. The resort was found on a reef just off a major island and not on the “strip” of hotels in the heart of Cancun. Sounds perfect right? When you are booking your all-inclusive vacation, be sure you know exactly what all-inclusive means. Some resorts offer low prices but you are subjected to sales pitches to buy time-shares. What you thought would be an ideal vacation could turn into a nightmare when you realize that in some places, though it advertises no tipping, the workers still expect it. If they aren’t tipped, your service will be affected. At least we found this to be true at the resort we stayed at. At our resort, there were tip jars everywhere and tips were absolutely expected. Some resorts ban all tipping and you need to find out ahead of time which type of resort you are going to.
Another downside to taking an all-inclusive vacation is that if you go off the resort you will pay for everything you do. In our case, our resort was small and had limited-access to other activities. What we thought would be a vacation to get away from it all, instead turned in to a vacation that was restrictive and more costly than we expected. For instance, the all-inclusive package included only one round-trip ferry ride to the mainland. That means, they got us to the resort and would get us back to the mainland for our trip home, and all other visits or excursions off our resort was our responsibility to pay for. The resort was beautiful, but we were expected to tip, we had to sit through a sales presentation, and it was restrictive on that particular resort.
All-inclusive has a nice sound to it, but be sure that where you are going is all-inclusive. Research on the Internet or ask for friends or family members recommendations.

When you add the many rivers that empty in to the Caribbean you will realise that you can add spinning and fly fishing to your repertoire on a Belize fishing vacation. Most guides and boatmen speak English.
If you hanker after a Belize Adventure vacation then there is caving, canoeing and kayaking, as well of course as hiking and walking. The best hikes in Belize include Cockscomb Basin Forest reserve in Southern Belize, Guanacastle National Park, Blue Hole National Park, Tikal National Park, and all need further investigation.
The best Belize adventure vacations might include things like chartering a boat and sail to isolated Islands, kayaking and camping around Glover's reef Atoll. Why not try riding an inner tube through the Caves Branch River Cave System, which is real easy caving for beginners.
Similarly try canoeing, kayaking or inner tubing on the Macal or Mopan Rivers in Western Belize, and finally horseback riding in Western Belize through the Cayo District.
You can of course do all or some of these things on a Belize honeymoon, but the likliehood is you will be looking for a gorgeous Belize beach resort, the best Belize luxury resort you can find, perhaps a Belize all inclusive vacation.
You are almost spoilt for choice for your Belize Honeymoon vacation, and of course Belize isn't restricted just to honeymooners, it is a family friendly place as well, and a vacation on a Belize Caye is unforgettable. There are several levels of accommodation from the luxury resort to the cheap Belize hotel, so it is important that you do your research before you book.
At the luxury end of the market in Belize.
If you are looking for a Jungle adventure you might consider the Maruba Resort Jungle Spa, or if it is caving, then the Jaguar Paw near Belmopan.
Ambergris Caye has Captain Morgan's Retreat, Victoria House, and off Ambergris Caye is almost a private island called Cayo Esperanto, which is absolutely perfect for the Belize beach honeymoon.
Turtle Inn at Placencia is almost the ultimate Belize Beach honeymoon destination designed by Film Director Francis Coppola, El Pescador South at Punta Gorda a real luxury Belize resort.
For a cheap Belize Hotel it is worth investigating Ambergris Caye, where you will find the San pedro Holiday Hotel, Tides Beach resort, Ruby's, to name a few.

All Inclusive Family Vacations
Tips for Scoring a Discount on Your Next Trip with the Kids
Author: Jamie Jefferson
You may think of tropical getaways as romantic interludes for couples only, but many all inclusive resorts actually cater to families, with special activities that allow children to have a memorable vacation and that allow parents some special one on one time. Here are some tips to getting a good deal on your next all inclusive family vacation.
Why consider all inclusive?
All inclusive tours can really help you to save money, and they can help busy parents to relax. Most all inclusive resort vacations include beverages, meals, taxes, entertainment, activities, and even gratuities in the price of your accommodations, so you can just relax and enjoy yourself.
Is an all inclusive vacation right for your family?
An all inclusive vacation may mean spending less for your vacation, or it may mean spending more. It all depends on your traveling style.
An all inclusive vacation may not be for you if your family enjoys doing a lot of independent adventuring and exploring because you'll be paying for these additional things in addition to your all inclusive rates.
Also, make sure that the activities included at the resort will be of interest to your children. Some children love the resorts "kids' clubs," which often provide great educational and cultural activities for all different age groups (and they give the parents some time alone). But some children may be wary of joining new kids and new caregivers in a new place. You want to make sure to keep everyone's needs in mind when you are planning such a trip.
If your kids are excited to try new adventures in a new place, and you tend to get stressed out every time you need to pay for yet another thing on your vacation, you might particularly appreciate the all inclusive travel experience.
How to find a Discount All inclusive Family Resort
The Internet provides so much information on different all inclusive resorts, the trick is in narrowing your options and not getting overwhelmed.
The best thing to do when you are first starting out is to ask your family and friends about any all inclusive resorts that they have particularly enjoyed. The experiences at these so-called tropical paradises can vary greatly, and it's difficult to get the information you need from a brochure or a corporate website. Talk to people about recommendations and spend some time combing through travel websites that offer independent ratings and reviews (by travelers) of different resorts.
Especially when you are traveling with kids, it's a good idea to look for a good discount (by traveling during an off peak time, for example) at a quality, well-known resort rather than securing a cheap regular rate at a place you've never heard of. It's one thing to be stuck somewhere you would rather not be stuck, but when you have young kids with you, you want to keep any ghastly surprises to a minimum.
Once you've narrowed down your options of family friendly resorts to just a few, make sure to read all the fine print. Find out exactly which activities and attractions are paid for at the resort, and which are not. Some packages offer free fares to children; others offer discounts. Sometimes, kids stay and eat for free. Sometimes, you'll find kid clubs are included in the price, but nannies and babysitters are not included. It's important to be very clear with the inclusions and exclusions so you are sure you are comparing resorts fairly.
Research the resorts' websites as well as their write-ups at your favorite travel website. Compare rates and check whether the price listed is for the entire group or per person. (Sometimes, the rates quoted online for these types of vacations will be listed as per adult, but will also include your children's accommodations).
Traveling often comes with hidden charges, and savvy travelers are aware of them ahead of time. See if you will be paying any additional airport charges, governmental travel fees, security fees, airport fees, shuttle fees, and so on. If you aren't sure what exactly the price includes, pick up the phone and double check before booking.
A little research will really pay off. An all inclusive family vacation is best planned far in advance. Get the brochures. Do an Internet search on the name of the resort that you have chosen before you book. This is a good way to see what other travelers are saying about the resort in independent forums. Look to see which family resorts have earned top marks and awards from the travel industry, as well.
If you use a travel agent, it's still a good idea to get online and see what's out there. Then you can talk to your agent about the different options and the features and activities that you want to make sure your all inclusive vacation includes.
Whether you want to lounge by the pool, or have an all out family adventure, you'll be able to find a resort that will cater to your needs. Then all you need to do is pack your bags and get ready to relax.

Tips For Renting Vacation Cottages
By Kristin Dorsett
Here are a few tips for effectively advertising a vacation cottage on the Internet.
Don't put all of your advertising eggs in one basket. One mistake that many cottage rental owners make when starting off is to rely too heavily on their personal website or one cottage rental portal website. By spreading out your efforts, you'll reach a larger pool of prospective renters.
Take great photos. This may sound like a no-brainer, but you'd be surprised how many cottage rental owners undersell their home by taking poor photos. Show off what your vacation cottage has to offer by taking great photos of each room and each of your amenities.
Highlight your amenities. Especially in very saturated cottage rental markets, amenities may very well be the deciding factor for a traveler when choosing a vacation cottage to rent.
Know which amenities vacationers are searching for in your area. In some markets, HDTVs are must-haves. In others, hammocks are a top seller. Know your market and your renters and equip your home with what travelers are looking for. Unsure what amenities to provide? Browse cottage rental websites for properties in your area and see what other owners are offering.
Create a welcome packet for your guests. It is a nice touch to include an informational binder, packet, or basket at your property for your guests that includes information about the surrounding area and specific to your home (e.g. satellite TV instructions, local restaurants, emergency phone numbers, etc.)
The key is to think like a traveler when you're creating your ad or personal website. Don't forget why vacationers choose to stay in cottage rentals in the first place. Many travelers choose to stay in a cottage or vacation home instead of a hotel for the space and amenities, so be sure to make sure that these come across very clearly in your ad.

How to Choose a Luxury Villa Rental
By Michael J Lee
Spanish holiday villas are highly prized accommodations. With Spain reclaiming its popularity as a holiday destination in recent years, villa rentals are harder to find. That's why it's important to get a reservation as early as possible to have the perfect little palace in Spain for your holiday. Besides that, all you have to do is decide where you want to stay in the country. There's a little something for everyone, from the playboy's paradise to perfect family vacation destination. Check out the country's rich locations and see for yourself where the ideal vacation is for you.
An increasingly popular location is La Manga, which has the best of both worlds. La Manga is located on a tiny strip of land between the Mediterranean Sea and the Mar Menor. This is just one of the beautiful, natural features of La Manga. The beaches are world renowned, as are the golf courses. In fact, the term La Manga is often used to refer to a specific championship golf course in the region. At the end of La Manga, you'll find the famous yacht club Tomas Maestre located in a lighthouse. It's one of the most celebrated areas in La Manga to stop and have a bite to eat.
The Costa Brava region offers another view of Spain. Costa Brava is roughly translated as "wild coast," and the area lives up to its name. It's full of tiny fishing villages and beach resorts, combining the best of old and new Spain. The resort areas of the Costa Brava are very popular, and tourism thrives in these areas, but the region's hidden gems are what make this area legendary. Not all of the region gave way to development, and many of the tiny villages remain for tourists to enjoy. Small beaches are tucked away in coves, making swimming and sunbathing more of a private time. This is great for travelers seeking adventure, quiet and relaxation. Some of the popular small villages are located at the foothills of the Pyrenees, a range of mountains separating Spain and France. These mountains are excellent for skiing and other winter sports. A holiday villa in the Costa Brave region ensures that you never have a dull moment or a lack of variety.
There are many other regions of Spain where holiday villas are available for rental. The Costa Blanca area has the popular city of Benidorm, which is divided into two halves by rocks. Benidorm is popular as a tourist destination. In fact, there are sections of the city where Spanish is rarely heard. The three major beaches of the city have been given the blue flag, which indicates the highest quality according to the European Union. Benidorm is popular with both working class and wealthy tourists, and it has something to offer everyone.
Spanish holiday villas are perfect for vacationers seeking a private stay in a grand country. They are sometimes a less expensive option than resorts and hotels, and they provide many more features. Some have private pools to enjoy the weather without the distraction of the public. Whatever option you choose, a holiday in Spain makes memories you'll savor for a lifetime.
Holidays in Spain at the La Manga Club Resort is the perfect holiday resort location set on 1500 acres of breathtaking Spanish countryside.
La Manga Club holiday resort offers golf, tennis, horse riding, water sports, childrens club, cycling etc and if you would like the chance to Win a Free La Manga Club holiday and receive the La Manga Resort Guide please visit the website.

Casino Resort Room And Food Deals
Written by Eissa Awwad
Casino resort room and food deals can be found using the Internet and also tourist services located in the resort you want to visit. When talking to a specific hotel or motel ask them if they offer any deals for more than one night or during the week when they are not so busy. Image
Casino resort room and food deals can be found using the Internet and also tourist services located in the resort you want to visit. When talking to a specific hotel or motel ask them if they offer any deals for more than one night or during the week when they are not so busy. Large resorts like Vegas often have super specials listed on the Internet for those that are willing to make a reservation well in advance of the arrival date.
If you are willing to set through a pitch for a vacation club, you can get your room and some shows for free. These vacation clubs use these incentives to gain access to prospective clients.
Casinos with large room occupancy offer specials for those visiting during the week and at what are considered off times. If there is no offer ask if there is one coming up or is there one you might qualify for in the near future. Maybe you could shift your visit in order to save a great deal on this necessary expense.
Holiday seasons and weekends are difficult times to locate deals if you wait until these dates are just around the corner. The only way to get a deal for these dates is to make your reservation well in advance.
If you are going to have an extended stay, look into renting a furnished condo for the month or longer. If you and another couple are making a similar vacation time, this can save a great deal of money over renting from a hotel or motel. Also you will probably save on the room tax as these rentals are considered in a different class than hotel and motel rooms.
Private residences are also open for longer stays as the people who own them are trying to use their property to make a little extra money.
If you are an RV person or a travel trailer owner, the places that rent to these owners are wiling to make deals for stays longer than a day or so. It never hurts to ask what they have to offer or are they wiling to negotiate an arrangement.
All of this information is readily found on the Internet using any good search engine. These searches are worthwhile as you can get a handle on what is being offered and at what price. Most of these sites will have a special for longer stays.

Paris, A Holiday Destination
Author: Rachel Harding
Paris is the capital of France and the second largest city of Western Europe, also known as affectionately as the City of Lights. Many couples decide to take short stay in Paris as it is probably the most romantic city in the world, there is so much to see and do that often only the main tourist attractions can be fitted in.
It is renowned for its wonderful Gothic inspired buildings and street markets,it is the home of the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and many other famous tourist attractions. Fortunately for tourists, Paris has a first rate transportation system, the Metro underground train network will probably be the main method as it runs regularly and reaches every part of the city.
The Eiffel Tower at over 300 meters tall and is a magnificent steel structure, there are only a few places in the city where it isn't visible. In the evening the illumination means it can be seen for many miles, it is possible to take organized tours which tell the story of the Tower and the history of France.
If you plan on spending some of your traveler's checks in Paris, then a trip down the Champs Elysees is an essential part of a trip,if you want to see famous, designer label shops and the restaurants, this is the place. This is considered a more exclusive and busy area of the city, most of the five star hotels are located here but more affordable hotels can be found further out.
A trip to would not be complete without a visit to the Louvre museum; it houses over three hundred thousand exhibits but not all of them are ever on display at the same time. There are enough art exhibits to keep you occupied for more time than your short stay in Paris would allow, with the likes of Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa to view in addition to some of the finest collections of art in the world. Over the years, Paris has been home to many of the world's famous artists, the likes of Monet, Picasso and many others lived in the city for years and some of their work can still be seen today.
Of course, Napoleon commissioned the construction of the Arc de Triomphe, another Paris landmark; the names of his generals are engraved on its surface and another of those must have photo land marks. A little known fact is that there's a viewing observatory built into the building allowing the whole area to be viewed,it is located in Place Charles de Gaulle where twelve of the city's main avenues start, including Avenue de Champs Elysees.
You will not be at a loss for places to visit whilst in the city, there are plenty of others to keep you occupied but to make the most of your time, use one of the guided tours. It is fair to say that you won't see everything on a Paris short stay of two or even three day break, those attractions that cannot be seen will still be there the next time you visit.

Hotel Room vs. Timeshare Condo
By: Holly Day
Sure, a hotel may be fine if you're traveling solo or with a partner. But what about families with kids? Or groups of four or more who like to vacation together? A condo at a timeshare resort is the ideal solution.
Get More Sleeping Space Great for families No need to rent extra hotel rooms to accommodate family and friends!
Timeshares have Full Kitchens – Save money, gain privacy & eat more healthily! And eating some meals at your new home makes dining out more fun!
Invest in Your Future Vacations & Protect Against Rising Inflation Rates - According to PricewaterhouseCoopers (USA Today February 6, 2008), this year's projected hotel room rate increase of nearly 6% reflects the continuing imbalance between the limited supply of available hotel rooms and high traveler demand. Why not lock into your future vacations at today's prices?
Invest in Your Family & Loved Ones When you buy a timeshare, you and your family will vacation every year! You're making time to be with your family and loved ones! Build those family vacation memories!
Size Matters
The average timeshare resort condo gives you about 5 times more room than a hotel room! Here's the math:
Hotel Room = 240 sq ft.
Typical Condo = 1,100 sq ft
Vacationing With Family
If you've ever crammed your family into a hotel room, you know what it's like. By the time you get the kids to sleep, you can forget about any nightlife or grownup time after hours. Splitting up into separate hotel rooms is costly and worrisome — the kids are on their own in the next room, but you can't easily check on them and how do you keep ‘em away from all those $10 candy bars in the mini-fridge?
Vacationing With Friends
If you like to vacation together with friends or family, you can all fit comfortably 'and have your privacy' in a spacious, furnished home. The typical resort condo has at least 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living/dining area and a full kitchen. And you can prepare and enjoy meals at home – a great way to socialize and save money.
Activities For Everyone
When it comes to amenities, timeshares win hands-down. Hotels often have a pool and a game room, but timeshare resorts give you a much wider range of family and group activities to enjoy. Whether you prefer sunshine or snow, you can easily find something fun to do. For children, there are activities like arts and crafts, pool games, mini golf, movie nights, biking and much more! Many timeshare resorts also have their own private beach, tennis courts or golf courses (in fact, many are world class!). And you'll discover that you’re often just a short jump from theme and water parks, ski resorts, fishing, shopping and national parks.

How to Get Married on a Cruise
By: Amy Nutt
Why not save time and money by combining your wedding with your honeymoon on a romantic cruise? A wedding that takes place on your cruise can be a beautiful way to start a journey together as a couple. However, it's not quite as easy as it looks in the movies. You will need time to arrange a wedding and it is best to start at least a couple of months before your cruise leaves.
In reality, most couples don't get married at sea, or on the actual cruise ship. In order to do this, you need to find a cruise line that has a wedding department and someone (often the captain) to perform a legal ceremony. Not all captains have the legal right to marry couples, so check this ahead of time if your heart is set on an ocean bound ceremony.
For most couples, getting married just before you leave the port or at another port of call along the way is a great compromise that can be done on any cruise line. There are a few things you'll need to put in place ahead of time . . . often the cruise line will help you out with this. For example, you will need to decide where you will have the wedding ceremony performed, since most cruises have more than one stop.
In order to get married in a foreign port of call, you will need to have the right paperwork. Some states actually allow you to use their marriage license abroad, so make sure you check this ahead of time. Otherwise, you will need to find out what paperwork is required for the port of your choice. This will be reviewed upon arrival in the port, even if you plan to marry aboard the ship.
Other options for cruise ship marriages include tying the knot on the beach or at a local church. This will require additional arrangements, but if you really want a wedding to remember, it can really be worth the extra effort. Getting married in a foreign country may require other specifics like placing a notice in the local newspaper, before you are allowed to have a formal ceremony. This can take time, so make sure you are aware of all regulations and requirements ahead of time and if you won't be able to complete them in time, pick another location for your cruise wedding.
One thing is for sure, you can't just throw together a last minute cruise ship wedding. You will need time to plan it, particularly if you want to invite friends and family, since the paperwork doesn't happen overnight. Different countries have different rules as to who can be married and what is required. Also, keep in mind that if you are married aboard a cruise ship, your wedding license may be issued by the ship's mother country of origin or registration, which is usually outside the US. You will want to ensure that this is acceptable in your home country, otherwise it will be necessary to conduct another wedding once you return.
Having your wedding on a cruise can be a wonderful experience, if you have prepared correctly. Enjoy a romantic wedding aboard the ship or on a beach and then continue with your honeymoon . . . that part is already taken care of! Just remember that you need to take time to plan everything out, just like with any other wedding arrangements. Set it up ahead of time and enjoy!
